Conference championship action returns to the Dempsey Indoor this weekend, as an expanded Mountain Pacific Sports Federation again boasts one of the deepest and most competitive fields in the NCAA.

On the heels of one of the best heptathlon performances in NCAA history, senior Jeremy Taiwo was named the National Athlete of the Week today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Taiwo, an All-American from Renton., Wash., broke a world record by clearing 7-feet, 4.50-inches in the heptathlon high jump, the fourth and final event of the first day of the competition at the Boise State Team Classic.
